Justin, like former girlfriend Britney Spears and former tourmate Christina Aguilera, made his television debut on Star Search, where he sang country songs under the name Justin Randell, eventually being picked up to perform in the Disney Channel's The Mickey Mouse Club. Justin is also famous for the 'wardrobe malfunction' at 2004's Super Bowl XXXVIII in which he ripped off part of Janet Jackson's black leather costume, accidentally removing part of the costume and exposer one of her breasts. Amazingly, this incident sparked a nationwide controversy over television decency and was even brought up by a Georgia senator at the US senate as 'proof' of the nation's "deficit of decency".
